Renovation of Swimming Pool, Torreblanca, Fuengirola, Malaga

A pool with no structural leaks. The pool had a leak from the drain, but this had been sealed off years ago. In this case, the client wanted a swimming pool that was easy to care for, without the constant maintenance required by a tiled pool (regrouting, replacing missing tiles, filing sharp edges etc).

Being German, our client was very familiar with Renolit and their range of AlkorPlan pool linings. Renolit is a Multinational family owned company based in Germany, but with manufacturing facilities worldwide. The swimming pool products (along with other waterproofing) are manufactured at their plant in Sant Celoni, near Barcelona.

To make a complete renovation, a new pool surround was installed to replace the old rustic tiles. We then installed a new drain pipe, which we could hide in the wall of the pool. All of the skimmers, lights, jets and other fittings in the pool were changed to be compatible with the reinforced pool membrane.

Geotextile was bonded to the walls and floor. This is not really needed, but gives a superior finish, much like underlay for carpet. Over this, the pool liner is installed by welding sheets together.

The treads on the steps are covered with a non slip material for safety.
