This was a complete cosmetic renovation of a private swimming pool in Tomar, Portugal. Tomar is a beautiful city inland from Lisbon and Porto in the district of Santarem.

The swimming pool was in poor condition, suffering from a leak around the skimmer mouth. We repaired the skimmer mouth and then installed the beautiful Renolit AlkorPlan 3000 Persia Blue reinforced liner. The pool looked fantastic, but the clients were not satisfied there, they chose to install the stunning borders from Border Choice. The Border Choice borders are great self adhesive swimming pool borders, easily fitted by the client.

If you are considering a pool renovation, please do not leave it until 2 weeks before you want to use the pool. Although renovations using Renolit Alkorplan are quick, they still need to be planned. The swimming pool is a very unusual key hole shaped pool, showing that the liner can be adapted to any shape or style of swimming pool. The clients chose Bizance liner for the main colour and the adriatic blue for the non slip on the pool steps and the detail around the deep end of the pool.

As you can see, the result is stunning.

A normal domestic pool takes about 2 days, this swimming pool installation took 4 days, as the shape was so complicated.

This lovely swimming pool is set in the terrace of a the lovely Villa La Jax, in the old town of Albufeira on the Algarve in Portugal.

The villa is used as a holiday home, for both the owners and the rental guests. Using a pool for holiday rentals means that the pool needs to be as low maintenance as possible. The smooth nature and guaranteed waterproofing of a reinforced pool liner gives this peace of mind.

We also installed AstralPool LED lighting, which has a very long life and low energy consumption, meaning that the rental guests won’t be able to waste too much electric if they leave the pool lights on all night. The par 56 bulb uses around 27w opposed to 300w for a traditional light.

A Certikin CTX salt chlorinator was also fitted, again aiding the maintenance of the pool.

The liner specified for this pool is the popular Persia Blue from the Renolit AlkorPlan 3000 range. It is a very thick membrane, reinforced with polyester fibres, guaranteeing waterproofing and giving a great looking finish.

This project took 14 hours, with a few hours the following day to test the salt system. In this video showing the entire installation, you can see the work that goes into installing one of our swimming pool liners.

The swimming pool was very old, as it was part of the original farmhouse. With it being so old and reliability of the pool installation being paramount, the decision was taken to use #Renolit #AlkorPlan 3000 liner, from the touch range.

Reinforced liners are the choice for commercial swimming pool applications, where longevity, reliability and low maintenance are essential.

In addition to the lining, we built new seating areas and installed all new plumbing, pump and filtration equipment. Sanitisation of the water is by salt electrolysis.

The sand coloured Touch Relax membrane perfectly compliments the patio around the pool. The water is a beautiful turquoise colour, looking very inviting.
