Swimming pool reform due to tiles falling off, Mijas
This swimming pool in Mijas, Urbanisation Campo Mijas, near La Sierrazuela, required renovation as the tiles were in very poor condition and falling off in places.
The owner was very happy with his other Renolit AlkorPlan membrane in another swimming pool, so he wanted the same treatment for this swimming pool. It was important to him to have a low maintenance finish, as the villa is rented out for holidays.
The first task here was to change all of the fittings to be compatible with the liner system. The skimmers, jets, lights and drain are all broken out to be replaced with liner compatible fittings. The next step was to stabilise the structure by sealing and problematic areas with a special cement. To install the Renolit AlkorPlan membrane, it is not necessary to remove the tiles. Removing the tiles makes the project much more costly, as the surfaces would all have to be rendered smooth again after removing the tiles.
The colour used here was Renoloit AlkorPlan 3000 Marble.
