This large swimming pool is located between Coin, Alhaurin el Grande and Cartama. It had suffered from cracking and poor repairs.

We were asked to look at the pool by potential buyers of the house, as they were suspicious about the repairs that had been done. After a quick look at the pool, it was clear that poor repairs had been done to hide the fact that the pool had tipped and cracked. Moving the gravel away from the outside of the swimming pool clearly showed how badly the pool had cracked.

The old owner of the house had put a new surround on the pool and patched the top area and the cracks. If he hadn’t skimped on the bodged repairs and used the correct tiles, the new owners would not have known that the pool was leaking until it was too late.

The only guaranteed way to repair a cracked pool is to install a reinforced Renolit AlkorPlan liner. This provides the waterproofing. We prepared a quote for the work, which the new owners used to negotiate the price to buy the house with.

We always stress that the best time for planning pool works is in the off season when you are not using the pool, don’t leave it until it suddenly gets hot and you would like to use the pool!
